Description: Take
the mystery out of navigating through our vast wildlands. Instead of depending
on others, become totally reliant on your own skills to locate your position
and find your way, even in the most remote wilderness.
Contents –
Classroom & Outdoor Labs: Compass types and use;
determining a bearing and following a heading; walking a straight line;
navigating around obstacles; positive error; reading a topographical map;
orienting a map; position determination; plotting a course; and travel
techniques. We will also briefly discuss GPS devices, cell phones and other
electronic tools.
Cost: $40.00 per person.

Instructor:
Tim Kneeland
has been teaching survival to military, government, municipalities, educational
institutions, companies, SAR organizations, first responders, non-profit
groups, and the general public since 1965. He currently teaches survival
courses for Customs and Border Protection pilots and Marine officers, USCG
Rescue Swimmers, Charter Aircraft crews, and CERT/Emergency Responders.
