For City-dwellers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. This official Red Cross Wilderness First Aid class is a 16-hour advanced first aid training held over two days. The course features many hands-on skills activities and practice opportunities.

Topics include:
• Information and tips on equipment
• Stay-or-Go decision-making
• Primary and secondary assessments
• Head (brain), neck and spinal injuries
• Heat-related emergencies and hypothermia
• Altitude-related illnesses
• Allergies, Anaphylaxis and Epi-pens
• Bone and joint injuries and burns
• Wounds and wound infection
• And more

Certification
Upon completion, each participant will receive American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid Certification. Good for 2 years.

Prerequisites
Participants must be at least 14 years old.

Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch as there are limited facilities in the area.

Includes indoor and outdoor activities. Come prepared for the weather!

Instructors: Theresa Odello & Brad Davis

Theresa, a certified Park and Recreation Professional, has taught and facilitated high-ropes and team-building courses since 1999, and has been teaching classes through the American Red Cross since 2008.

Brad, a certified emergency manager, teaches search & rescue, first aid, CPR and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes, and runs two CERT teams.
